A decade of growth, from small subcontracting jobs to federal and military construction projects across Guam.
The company was established in February 2016. Back then, we undertook smaller projects, mainly as a subcontractor to the bigger construction firms on the island. We catered to projects specializing in mechanical works, renovation, carpentry, repair, and maintenance on commercial facilities and residential homes.
Construction is one of the major industries and also one of the biggest economic indicators on Guam. The company grew progressively, concurrent with the continuous development and need for construction services on the island. The main catalysts of the company's success and rapid growth were:
All these brought in more bid projects and continuous growth in the company. It was during this period when the business started offering more comprehensive design work — an opportunity to engage in contracting and subcontracting larger-scale bid projects.
The company also aggressively bid for projects within the military bases — U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. These projects established the company's good reputation and lasting relationship with the Federal Government.
Northern Construction is committed to providing a safe work environment that influences the attitudes and promotes an elevated awareness with regards to safety in all staff. Employees are responsible for safety within the company, including our jobsites. We take a collaborative approach with all members of the organization to improve how they view their relationship to safety.
We are dedicated to providing the safest and most favorable conditions practical for all those working at and entering our jobsites. All employees are empowered and responsible for recognizing and correcting safety, health, and environmental hazards to eliminate risks that could impact our employees, clients, and the general public. To achieve this, we are committed to training our workforce consistently with accepted and mandatory minimum health and safety standards.
We pride ourselves on having implemented and maintained a company-wide Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Management System that provides for the safety and health of all members of the organization during the execution of project works. This has resulted in a continuous decline of OSHA-recordable occupational injuries and illnesses.
